Eastridge is located in Garvin county, just 30 minutes south of Norman via Interstate 35. Just minutes away is Paul’s Valley, the Garvin county seat, with additional services including libraries, theaters, outdoor recreation, golfing, swimming, and more.
The original owners of the land in this area, when it was first settled, were members of the Yoakum family, who farmed the land for many years. They also established telephone service by running a line from Rosedale, across their land, and on to Paoli, creating one of the first telephone companies in Oklahoma. Some of the original poles can still be found in the area today.
Over the years, the land has had other owners, but has now been returned to the Yoakums with the purchase by Harvey and Carol.
Just outside the town limits of Paoli, Eastridge residents can enjoy being a part of a community that’s devoted to a relaxed lifestyle and a commitment to better living. With a long history, the Paoli area was first settled in 1874, with the town incorporated in 1900. Settlers from Texas, Tennessee, Alabama and other points east chose the area for its beauty and rich soils to support farming of alfalfa, wheat, soybeans, corn, melons and sweet potatoes, which continues today.
Looking for the right place to raise your family? Look no farther. Eastridge is served by the Paoli Public Schools, with a wide range of academic and extracurricular activities from kindergarten through high school.
The schools serve not only the needs of the typical student, but support both gifted and talented, and academically challenged students as well.
The schools offer strong academic fundamentals, plus athletic programs and technical / vocational education. Once the core education is completed, a wide range of both conventional college and vocational schools are located within easy driving distance.
